
During the Tea Ceremony
The 25th Anniversary commemoration of Enshu Sado School at NUS was held on 21 August 2015 at the University Town of National University of Singapore. His Excellency Haruhisa Takeuchi graced the event and conferred the Ambassador’s Commendation on Fuden-An So-Jitsu Kobori, the 13th Grand Master of Enshu Sado School for his dedication in promoting Japanese tea to NUS for the past 25 years.
The ceremony kick started with the NUS students constantly demonstrating the tea ceremony and serving Japanese sweets to the guests. This event had an overwhelming response of 160 guests from all walks of life.
The Commendation Award ceremony had opening remarks made by Associate Professor Chang Tou Chuang, Vice Dean of NUS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences followed by His Excellency Haruhisa Takeuchi making a speech to the guests and subsequently the Commendation Award was conferred to Fuden-An So-Jitsu Kobori, the 13th Grand Master of Enshu Sado School. It was a moment of achievement for the Grandmaster in which he stated in his acceptance speech.
Token of appreciations were presented to the Grandmaster, Ms Miura from Enshu Sado School for her 18 years of dedication in promoting Enshu Tea to NUS by Associate Professor Chang Tou Chuang and eventually Grand Master Fuden-An So-Jitsu Kobori presented a gift to His Excellency Haruhisa Takeuchi and Associate Professor Chang Tou Chuang.
The ceremony, the premiere screening of the documentary, My Father is the Grand Master was shown to the guests. JCC takes pride in being part of these 25th Anniversary celebrations of Enshu Sado School at NUS.
